Reflections of My Life

Not sure what the day holds for me. I have to take a walk outside to the dumpster. Probably not going to sit out there because the smokers are out and usually sit out there all day. Too hot for me anyway. I am waiting for my Amazon package to be delivered first so I can do it all in one trip. Out to the dumpster and then to the mailbox and back. I hear people using the elevator so it must be working. As long as I can get back here is all I care about.

My days race by so quickly I can't believe it. I suppose this is what happens when you get to your seventies. People mention being bored and I can't even imagine that. I can't get everything done in one day that I planned on. Still working on my file cabinet though I admit I did not work on it yesterday. I get up pretty early but go to bed early too. I am turning off my fairy lights and see people still sitting outside. I can't say that is due to my age because I have always been like that. Morning is my time. I hate night time and always have.

My first husband would stay up all night watching television at his desk in our family room. Then in the morning I was constantly waking him up so he could make it to a client's appointment. I was calling his secretary to tell her he would be late (for some false reason, but she knew). She would change his appointment to a later time. Horrible way to run a business! He did work at his desk too so not just watching television but he could not go to bed at a decent hour.
 

Happy Friday everyone says. Since I do not go to a job Friday is not special to me. When I worked as a CNA in a nursing home I had every other Friday off before a week-end that I had to work. So week-ends weren't always off anyway. When I lived at my house I sold online so Monday was my favorite day because of the post office being open and I could mail out packages. Now I even receive packages from the post office on Sundays if they can figure out how to get into the building (they are not smart enough to figure out how to use the intercom to get buzzed into the building yet). :)

Every morning now before I turn on the computer I am having my first cup of coffee and reading. Reading two books now. One is on my Kindle. The computer ends up taking a lot of my time and I never get back to my books. So figured this is the best time do that. I love to read and once I get started it is hard to put the book down.

I am making a memory test for myself. Write out a bunch of words on a sheet of paper. Then cut each one out and put it in a jar or a container. Take out 3 every morning and read them aloud. Then put them away where you can't see them. About 10-15 minutes later write the words down. Then check the words you put away with what you wrote down.

This is the same test they give you in the doctor's office to see how your memory is. I think mine must be pretty good though there are times when I have to check something over and over. I have so many passwords, pin numbers, email addresses and websites to remember it is a wonder I can remember them all. I do have them all written down in a notebook, just in case.
 
Making 4 batches of keto replacement shakes for ice cream this coming week. I am keeping a list of the ones I am loving at the moment so I can be sure to reorder those. Usually by the time I do an order I forget how much I loved a certain flavor and miss buying it again. My last order I ordered a few of my very favorites and then a bunch of the fall flavors. If I did not use these shakes I would never get enough protein. It is just hard for me to eat that much in a day. Especially since I do Intermittent fasting. I can only eat between certain hours so I can be sure to be done eating by 6 PM.

I love poached eggs and recently bought an egg poacher. I had those silicone egg poachers and hated them. I realized now that I hate using silicone for cooking. It has an odor to it that may not be noticeable to everyone. I am sensitive to odors and that is one of them. I bought a stainless steel egg poacher. The cups are nonstick so I have to be real careful not to scrape the egg out with anything metal. I can use silicone manual hand tools with no problem. Of course they don't have an odor.

I think there has been summer activities going on in the parks across the street. I have not been to any of them because I cannot tolerate the hot weather or the smoke in the air. They keep issuing warnings for us old folks ;) to be careful due to either. I don't have breathing issues but the hot weather affects me and always has. So keeping cool inside and listening to music while on the computer today. I am on a Traveling Wilburys kick this week.

This company is a total scam they will not warranty anything because they are sending it from china and it’s to expensive for them to ship back. We had problems folding the wheelchair after one week. They make you record videos and send to them in CHINA, then send you back videos on how to try and fix it. It didn’t work! Then we had problems with the battery charging.
They play all sorts of games until the 30 days are up and then it’s out of their promised warranty. They will not allow you to return or even exchange for a new one! And the product is so cheaply made they probably spent like 50 bucks to make it and charge 1400.00. Total scam please be ware of this company!!!!!!!

Seeing lots of reviews on things like no instructions to put it together. Basket rattles. Can't turn as wide with 4 wheels. Missing parts that were supposed to come with it. Plus it's almost $1500. Plus it's for shorter people.
 
I wasn't planning on buying one....good thing! I have given up on using a mobility chair due to it taking up too much space in my apartment. If I change my mind I would only purchase the same brand I had. And model, Jazzy EOS 600.

They do look very light and my mobility power chair is very heavy. Cannot load it in a car. A lot of them do come from China as most things to do but I am not sure about Jazzy. Videos on YT are starting to appear in my feed about mobility chairs and scooters. But I am not buying any.

Kind of expensive for a portable one anyway. Mine is expensive at almost $4000 but it is well made and heavy.
 
Ordered groceries this morning. Time to use up the UHC card before the end of the month. I don't know if it matters or not but I always worry about having too big of an order. I try to keep it down but today it is big. I was out of a bunch of things and then I ordered Jeff two bottles of coke. It is surprising but I meet the delivery driver at the entrance to the building and can usually put all the bags on my walker. New drivers are always surprised. They are probably thinking they will have to go with me to my apartment. Nope. I can handle it. The coke always complicates it but I manage.

Since I have not bought a shredder yet, I am going through all the papers I took out of my file and cutting my personal information off them. Then I can throw them out. No personal stuff on them. Then if some scammer is looking through them from the dumpster they won't find anything they can use. My son thinks I am nuts for doing this. Maybe so. I just feel better knowing I did it.
