Reflections of My Life

When lifting, keep your spine straight, head up, squat and lift with your knees. To turn, turn your feet first.
Sorry, I bet I'm preaching to the choir.
I know that method (I worked in a nursing home and that was what we were taught) but the problem is I cannot squat. My knees will not work that way anymore.

kat,

Take out the bottom drawer, you may get lucky and find that the dresser bottom is open to the floor so you can vacuum without moving it.

Otherwise, wait for your son to move the dresser long enough for you to vacuum under it.
The bottom drawer was not open to the floor. All the drawers have a slider thing on the bottom middle to keep them sliding smoothly.

No worries! I did it yesterday and now it looks nice. Not new but clean and shiny.

Every time you take a step forward you bend your knee even if only slightly or to relax the flex mid-step. Just bend your knees that far. And wear knee braces and a back brace! And remember to keep your load close to your body. And maybe practice before you lift the load.

I already did it. All done. I don't wear braces. I don't plan on lifting heavy loads often. That was a one thing.
