Regular medical check up?

I get wellness visits and they are unnecessary for me, and stupid. Can I draw a clock and tell time? Duh. Repeat three words. Only seniors get this. Everyone else would be insulted or humiliated. It's like first grade. Dr. even asks about sex.
The doctors have to follow Medicare demands. They are in charge, some nameless bureaucrat who only knows stats and charts. At least I get a cash card for Target store.

A query about health care in the USA. Do you need regular check ups as part of your health insurance, or do you just see the Doc. if you are ill?
I LOVE regular check-up every three or four months' period. Because I've been on several different medications, HB, Pain med and others which requires Bloodwork and prescription refills.
Last time when I went my Primary Doctor, my kidney was borderline and he advised me to drink a lot of water. Since my late mother passed away at age 32 or 33 due to her kidney failure, I might inherit it, so I'm very cautious about my Kidney-function which my Primary dr. ordered Bloodwork every three months about which I'm very happy.

My PCP retired so I visited a new one for my last wellness visit. He asked me one question. Are you in pain daily? I said yes. He immediately set me up for tests, referrals, etc. We never got beyond that. At first I thought this was a wasted visit but I began to realise he was thoroughly addressing the cause of my pain and trying to alleviate it and that was more efficient and productive than any of my past wellness visits.

I get an annual checkup that is more intensive than what many are describing as "wellness visits." My PCP goes over my meds, asks about my diet, exercise and other health habits, asks if I have any complaints or have noticed any changes, orders tests, and listens to my heart and lungs.

Ongoing meds are automatically mailed to me every 90 days.

So far, my doc hasn't bothered with mental acuity testing, but he can probably glean from our conversations that I'm not suffering from cognitive decline.

Health problems that crop up between those annual visits are addressed when they occur.

These are at no cost to me, or small co-pay if I visit an ER. I'm well satisfied with my health care group (Kaiser Permanente).

I thought I was the only one that thought the wellness visits are unnecessary and stupid. I don’t know why they ask all those dumb questions. Just another way to get more money. They always like to say, "it doesn't cost you anything". Oh yes it does! My Medicare insurance pays for it, which I PAY for. What can I say, I'm cynical. ;)

That was 25 years ago, so hopefully detection has gotten better.
Twisted bowel is so fast. I know three people who died because of it, two of them in their 30s. The third was in her 60s and that was about 5 years ago. She woke up in extreme pain and was dead before she got to the hospital. No advanced warning.
