The russet potato is the way to go. It has the most flavor according to a chemist who has analyzed the composition of potatoes. They may cost a little more but they are well worth it. I like mine baked with butter and sour cream...
 

Never heard of Russet potatoes, here in Canada we have white potatoes, yellow potatoes and red potatoes. So I would think red potatoes are Russet. Not sure.
 
Size and shape of our Canuck White Potatoes. The Baked Potato Nachos advertised on the bag sound good. Wouldn't mind giving them a try if I had the recipe.

The potato family with 3 daughters.
At dinner, the first daughter says "I have amazing news! I am getting married!" the father asks "to who?" The first daughter replies "to a russet". The father says "well a russet is a fine tater indeed"
The 2nd daughter says that she is also getting married. The father asks "to who?" the second daughter replies "to an Idaho". The father says "AN Idaho? an Idaho is a fine tater indeed"
The 3rd daughter also says that she is getting married. The father asks to who. The daughter replies "To Walter Cronkite". The Father says "WALTER CRONKITE!!!, but he is just a common tater!"
