Unfortunately, this assumption is not in line scripture. In scripture, as I understand it to get to heaven you must go through JC. You must believe. You must repent your sins. You must ask for forgiveness. Other religions may have different rules. These are Christian rules.
Rules are rules. No JC no pass to the ever after for Christians..
If you refuse JC, then you refuse heaven. God was fairly unforgiving that’s why JC was born, to forgive us. But, I could be wrong. I’ve been wrong before, and will be again. So, if you can’t go to heaven and don’t qualify for hell, where do you go?
Multiple religions, philosophies and movements adopted this belief in cyclic life, or reincarnation.

So my best guess for where do you go is you get recycled. As for freewill, some traits could be inherited, so God's nasty side could be reflected in a portion of humanity.
As those born before JC, I don’t think they get to go to heaven. Was there a heaven before JC? Is it mentioned in the Old Testament?
Don't think it was since the vision of mankind doesn't depict the way mankind evolved. Serious if mankind didn't evolve then there would no reason to even consider the acronym of BC. Either that or Adam & Eve were butt ugly, didn't live in the garden of Eden & didn't have to deal with T-Rex & saber toothed tigers.
Happy Easter everyone.
