Remember making a cotton reel tank

I sat on the floor for hours making these 'tanks' then raced them with my siblings.

We called them thread spool cats (from the tracked caterpillar logging machines) and used a wooden disk on the end with the full match stick but otherwise the ones we made were the same. Now people collect those wooden spools.

That wooden spool is a rare sight these days.
