Remember old days of cash only

Today Canada has a $100 billion credit debt. All thanks to to the use of credit cards and the lack of discipline of most Canadians. Count me out as I don't owe any money to anyone. Lucky me and I intend to stay that way!

Right now the federal government employees are on strike. Westjet pilots are going on strike by the middle of May. These people are greedy for more and more money so they can pay for their cottages, their pontoon boats, their holidays in the Caribbean and their 4X4 trucks or SUV gas guzzling cars. What a country? You gotta love it?

Speaking of cash, I had a collection of European/African money from my travels.

Deutsche Marks, Drachmas, Italian Lira, Egyptian Pounds, Congolese Franc, etc.
Never converted them to the Euro since it was a small amount, just kept them in box.

Wound up giving them to my friend's young son who thought the faces on the bills and coins were pretty cool looking.
His dad told him he would have to 'earn' the money, so we settled on him washing our car and he was paid
$10.00 USD and those old notes and coins.

A win all around; we were both pleased.

Today I wanted to write a check, my handwriting is the pits (people used to tell me I had a beautiful handwriting) I couldn't write legibly
Yes, my handwriting has become??...
So, I type the checks..on my ole' typewriter..
Yes, it was a B-D present from DH YEARS ago..
And, I'm glad..I have it...(not gotten rid of)
Really works out..well

There's a butcher shop around the corner where I get kielbasi and they only take cash. They've been there since 1923 and not much has changed.

My in-laws had a bunch of foreign coins and bills from their travels. We stocked a cash drawer with it for our grandkids to use when they play store or restaurant. :)
