Remember these fashions?

Women’s styles in the mid 70’s weren't quite as bad. In fact, most men loved the hot pants. It was really risqué though

and mini skirts

And who didn’t love bell bottoms?

And this retro style is apparently coming back
I, personally LOVED bell bottoms. Hot pants and mini skirts, not so much. I felt too exposed.

Remember Twiggy? She was more 60’s, but man I thought she was fantastic! I did my best to emulate her look especially her makeup. I remember drawing those lower lashes on, every time I went out! Took longer to do that the the whole rest of my face!

Oh she was without doubt the face of the 60's... but she was a concern for most mothers who had daughters who emulated her, because she was so thin... much thinnner than they used to allow models to be..nowadays they almost want them starved.. but back then she was a first. She's 73 now, and the same size as most of us, but she insists back then she ate like a horse...just had a high metabolism I s'pose..

I bought a leisure suit, bell bottoms and all, in the eighties. I wore it onl;y once because I thought I looked ridiculous in it! My wife agreed! But I still have a question concerning the material most used at the time: Polyester! Why is it so maligned. I loved it, you could sleep in it and there wasn't a wrinkle next day! Just an example, I didn't really sleep in it, but found it an amazing cloth just the same!

The cons of polyester are mostly environmental, such as high energy and water consumption , pollution, and inability to biodegrade. It takes a lot of energy to produce. The material itself has the ability to run the risk of pilling, running, and pulling. It’s non breathable and can be harsh on sensitive skin.
