Remembering the 1970's!

In the 70's I bought my first digital watch and a scientific calculator. The watch was plastic and made by Texas Instruments. It had a red plastic face and you had to press a button to see the red LED display. The calculator also had red LED numbers. It still works and hangs on my wall in a shadow box. You may notice there is no equal sign. It uses reverse Polish notation like the early HP calculators.

I still use my HP 11C that I got in the late '80s. I've only changed the battery once in all this time.

I have an original Farrah Fawcett poster from the 70's that hung inside my husband's closet when he was a teen. Came with him when he married me! I did get him to let me place in a tube for safe keeping some years later. It came with us during every move over the years.

What a fun surprise for my son to find when I am gone!

We had a 70's disco party during one of our sales meetings and I wore a Farrah Fawcett t-shirt with a medallion around my neck. I bought the Farrah Fawcett t-shirt at Urban Outfitters. They still sell them, along with vinyl records!
 
Remember men's leisure suits ?

I've got tan one hanging in a garment bag in the closet that I had tailor made in Bangkok somewhere around the mid 70's.......I guess they must have used inferior material because the last time I tried to put it on it had shrunk big time. :)

I grew up in Tampa and used to go to Daytona Beach with my friends to party at Big Daddy's!
 
My house was built in the 1970’s, and I’m still trying to get the 1970’s out of it. The shag carpet was the first thing to go. The entire kitchen was done in Harvest Gold, including counters and appliances. The bathroom was next, and I sure was glad to say goodbye to the Avocado Green toilet. Soon I’ll be doing the same to the Avocado bathtub. I always feel like a pea in the pod when I get into that green bathtub…

Someday, I hope to find the person who initially decorated my house, and throw Tupperware and fondue pots at them… 😼
 
There is a similar video by the same channel that brings up the smells of the 70s. That sounded strange at first but the video brought up things like leaded gas, the smell of freshly printed mimeograph sheets and certain colognes. It was good.
