Remembering to take medications.

I need to take my medications only twice a day, morning and night. However, here recently I want to take my morning medications and can see that last night meds were not taken. I have tried setting an alarm to remind me at a certain time in the morning and the same at night. That doesn't work because the alarm doesn't stay going on a day to day basis. I'd have to remember to set the alarms every day. So, I need some suggestions. This is a BIG concern.

I take quite a bit of medication in the mornings and evenings so I never forget to take those medications. In the morning it is the first thing I do when I wake and right before I go to bed I take my evening pills. Now for the midday pill which is only one that is a different story. I do sometimes forget that and will sit down to dinner and be like "Oh My God" I forgot my afternoon pill. I will then take it and be done with it. I guess I get wrapped up in the events of the day and forget that one pill sometimes.

Well, I still have to find a reminder of some sort to alert me to take my meds or something.

I recommend one of these. After you take a med, leave the little compartment door open to remind you.

My sister used a recurring alarm on her cell phone. I don't know how to do it as I don't need it (yet).
This. It works for my husband who has to take a variety of meds.

For my eye drops, I put them out in the middle of counter so I won’t miss them. I use them after my morning shower and after washing my face at night. It helps to set a pattern. If they weren’t sitting out, I’d forget.

I use 4 pill boxes that have 7 compartments each. The green box is for the ones that I take at breakfast. Red is for lunch time, blue is for supper time and white is for bed time. I reload them every Saturday morning. It has become a routine. It works.

I found a watch that has an alarm as well as vibrates to remind me to take my meds, and I will have some with me I am not at home. I have something similar to what you show but sometimes the pills are still in there when I have forgot to take them.

Have you ever heard that alarm & couldn't remember what it was for? Just kiddin' 😁
Remember that old "Tie a string on your finger" to remind us of something?

Seriously, when you take your PM meds, leave a pair of socks or something equally out-of-place on your kitchen counter or bathroom counter...wherever you keep your meds.
This is a great suggestion. Whenever I need to remember to do anything, I leave something that reminds me of it out in the open. It could be a bill I need to pay (paper copy on counter), a prescription I need to fill (bottle on counter), a vitamin supplement I need to buy (bottle on counter). Anything that is out of place will remind you of something you need to do. (y)

I use the little pill boxes and the week's worth is on the dining room table where I eat. After eating breakfast, I take my morning meds. They are sitting there on my placemat on an extra coaster by my milk. Same for dinner meds. My lunch pill is on the placemat ready for me to take while I listen to the lunch time news.

I use a one week type container like win231 mentioned but I set it up for my daily meds. I ignore the days printed on it and I put each dosage in each consecutive compartment for different times of the day from the first dosage in the morning (first compartment) to the last needed compartment for my nighttime dosage. I use four of the compartments to cover the whole day. At the last dosage the compartments are empty and I refill the container for the next day. For example If I did not take the dosage due at a specific time I can look at the container and if it is gone I know I took if it is still there I missed it and need to take it. Works for me.
