Remington offers settlement in Sandyhook massacre

Let me ask one last question?

If several perps broke into your house & you had several children, & they all had guns. What would you do?
You do what you have to do for protection, that does not mean you need an assault type weapon to guarantee your safety. I would say a shotgun is just as effective when there is a line of sight.

To begin, sadly, many innocent children lost their precious lives.

To overcome federal law shielding gun manufacturers from liability, the argument was put forth by the Plaintiff's the gun was designed to be a military/assault type weapon.

In my mind, Remington is just as guilty as if they pulled the trigger. There is no rational human purpose for civilians to own them, period.

Another of this push-button topics that are better left alone.

If a shotgun works for you, that's fine. Your home, your family your choice.
But, if you had any gun knowledge, you would know that a shotgun has very limited magazine capacity (2 - 7 rounds) & is slow to reload.
We don't get to decide how many intruders we may face.

Regardless of the Pro's and Cons' of gun ownership, and who is responsible for the shootings....it appears that gun sales are soaring, as more people are arming themselves. The soaring crime rates, combined with the decline in policing, is creating an atmosphere where people are thinking they may have to protect themselves.

I stopped by a huge gun shop, Midway USA, last month, and they were sold out of virtually anything resembling an assault weapon....and the ammo prices were ridiculous....for virtually All calibers. I don't know where all this is heading, but watching the news reports over the past year is making me glad that we live in a rural area. Places like Chicago are turning into a war zone.
