Replacing a Bank Card and New/old technology.

So, my card was cracking, I then went to the bank to replace it. The normal color (Sea Green/ Aqua Green) wasn't available. So I chose red, but they made a mistake. 16777944422491799838990829250253.jpg

I didn't really mind, so I tested it on the atm in lobby before I left. Then, just as I'm leaving, I saw something that blew me away.

A coin counter! But not like coinstar. The bank has their own electronic counter so I can now do cash and save my coins to later drop at bank. I knew most banks no longer had coin counters, nice to see technology helping the past come forward.

Did you photo shop this to remove your name and credit card number or is that info on the back? Is there a fee for using the coin counter? The bank near me that had one removed it a few years ago.

Nope, they emboss on back only. I was surprised at first, but so appreciate the safety. The coin counter (I didn't look close) probably is only for members. I have seen for youth accounts, the coin fee is waved. So I'll have to see how much difference between them and coinstar.

I have cards that look the same. All the info is on the back. That little emblem on the left is a computer chip
And it’s a contactless card reader, replacing the typical swipe or insert methods. You just hold or tap your card on a contactless card reader.

Handy! I’ve upgraded all my cards so they each have this feature!

That's one thing I'm going to consider using as too often "Chip Readers" don't work.

Oh wow. Just had to also update my card with Patreon. They wouldn't have allowed the charges (my bank) with old info.

Which now makes it hard for a scammer to try and debit my account without that "Secret Codes".....

FYI, Pateron is a place you can support creators of channels on YouTube. I have three, two political, and one seal rescue in Nambia.
