Surely it would be kinder to put a blind and deaf Labrador down?

Blind dogs do pretty good as long as you don't change the furniture around. Their noses tell them lots of things and many folks have simply adjusted their style of approaching a deaf dog. A thump on the floor to warn them before you touch them so they aren't surprised....they do just fine. I had a little dog who went blind in her old age and she did just fine even when we were out and she was on her leash. Actually, unless I said something about it, you'd never know she was blind.
