Hi. I'm Sheila Finkelstein, known by some as "The Tech Savvy Senior." Actually, I know "just enough" about a lot of things to help someone or tell them where they can get more information.

I am also an artist/photographer/writer, inspiring people to see things beyond what they may ordinarily see at first glance. I've been online for years with several different websites and blogs.

A couple of months ago I published my first Kindle book, REAL SENIORS USING IPADS, a compilation of interviews with 31 seniors between the ages of 66 and 101... I love being in communities and am wondering how many other seniors feel the same way... what types of communities... online? offline? .. Is there a community of iPad users or interest in such?

What are seniors active online looking for as result of their activity? What ages of seniors are most active? What and how many online groups do they belong to, if any? What, if anything, might be missing for them in online activity?

And, given I'm querying ages and interests... is there a difference? My own data... I turned 75 in December. Most of my friends are in their 60s. Some my age and several are in their 80s, particularly among the people I interviewed , with whom I've become friends.

I look forward to connecting with people here.

Sheila

Welcome.. are you joining as a participating member, or are you looking to use us for more research? We get so many folks doing research on us for some reason.

Welcome Sheila and I hope you will be a true member, not like QS said and just for research or to sell something.

I am an iPad user, don't even turn my computer on anymore. Probably couldn't after 2 years, lol.

For the record, I didn't mean to be unwelcoming, but we have had so many "researchers"... I'm leary.. so I just thought I'd ask straight off..
