Respiratory virus and loss of smell

In early 2022 I came down with a respiratory virus which damaged my sense of smell. I don't think I had Covid-19, because both of my tests were negative. One was the rapid antigen test and the other was at the hospital, a PCR test. Yes these tests can give false negatives. Also had a wet cough and covid typically presented a dry cough. I did not go to the doctor, because no one wanted you in their office.
When smell came back after 12 days, it was weak and sporadic, on again/off again. This began about a 3 year journey of healing, which included parnosmia (false smells) as well as anosmia (inability to smell). After several years passed, much of my sense of smell had recovered, though weaker, and with many smells still off killter (like cilantro, odor of dogs, poop, lol). Another result of this is wherever I come down with a head cold nowdays, I always loose my sense of smell for several days, whereas before times, only occasionally.
Do you have any similar experiences?

I developed asthma from Covid. After several months the asthma recedes, if I get Covid the asthma returns. It's not unusual for me to contract Covid twice a year.

How Covid hits me is very different from what they said to watch for. I never ran a fever, never had the cough. But I have trouble thinking and moving around on my feet. Then the sleep hits. Nearly round the clock.

Two things tell me at the beginning of the infection that I might have something going on, my BP is slightly elevated and my O2 sats are down.

I lost my sense of smell after a cold once, but I think it was related to a nasal spray I used, tho maybe not the one that had lawsuits about the problem. My sense of smell took a long long time to come back (years). But, I also had Lyme Disease, so that also can cause a loss of a sense of smell, so I'm not sure what caused mine.
