My grandfather used to always keep a bag of sugared orange slices on his side table. Loved gpa to death! They are hard to find now.

There is an old time 5 and dime store near Buffalo named Vidlers. Carry a lot of vintage type stuff, and a big supply of old candies. Browse the whole site for a memory lane visit

Candy cigarettes!! Disgusting, but we thought we were so cool using them as kids. Did anyone else grow up with these or was it just a southern USA thing?

My grandson and I were heartbroken when they discontinued the sugar free, chocolate-mint hard candies. For the life of me I can't remember which company made them now! I wondered why they would stop making their best tasting flavor.
I am not sure of what you are talking about but I can remember my Mom buying peppermint candy that was shaped as more of cylinder and the center had chocolate. That was a favorite. One of our neighbors decorated their whole Christmas tree with edible treats. There were homemade cookies and popcorn balls of all colors wrapped in plastic wrap. There were candy canes, strings of lollypops, little bags of chocolate fudge and bags of nuts in the shell. It was a child's paradise. I remember this family so well because it was the first place I had rotel cheese dip and Italian salad dressing. Isn't it funny, the things we remember from childhood!!
