Retired Hippie Guitar Player

A Tele, eh? I prefer Strats myself. 1980... I was 24 and had already done over a 1,000 gigs.
Me, a Martin D28. Haven't been playing much lately, but I've mainly played "finger-style" like Doc Watson, Bruce Cockburn, Mississippi John Hurt. I had a Gibson SG for a while around 1970, but let that go (circumstances).

There are many 'lectric players I've liked a lot. Such as Larry Carlton (for instance, famed solo on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" original studio recording).

Jon Herrington has done wonderful bullish "Kid Charlemagne" solos on S.D.'s live touring recordings.

Welcome Aboard!

I'd love to hear some of your stuff!
We recorded a few of our shows back in the 80s with Teac 4 Track r2r, but when I retired I made the mistake of putting a lot of stuff in storage in Hayward, California while I moved half of our stuff to Flagstaff, Arizona. It was only there for about a month and when I got back to Hayward, the lock had been cut and the unit was empty. I've never trust storage places again. In addition to my gear that I lost, they got my box of family photos. That hurt. The gear could have been replaced, and what little of I needed for my "Golden Years" was, but those photos were all of my family photos, going all the way back to when I was 2.

By the way, that Washburn is a beauty. But you need to dust it off. Confucius say dust very bad for guitar strings.

Now yer talkin'! Larry Carlton is one of my favorite guitarists. I can't tell you many hours I tried and tried to learn that "Kid Charlemagne" solo and the one on "Don't Take Me Alive", but sadly he's the one with the chops. Not I...

I see you're from "a tad west of the Rockies" in Canada. Okanagan? That is my favorite spot in Canada! My family planned a three week camping trip there, but it got washed out. Lesson learned, early spring is a bad time for mountain vacations.

That guitar's all dusty! You haven't been playing her. Shame on you!
That's two votes for a dust cloth. :)
