I became a disability retiree 28 years ago when I was managing a group home for developmentally disabled seniors in Michigan. I had a siezure in a hardware store. My head slammed forward into a peg board with 6" jong hangers used for displaying things for sale. a hanger went through the tear duct of my left eye and pierced 3 or 4 inches into my brain. It's basically a stroke not caused by an aneurism. It has been difficult for me but not nearly as difficult for me as for my wife of 47 years this August. She stuck with me and our two now grown children and took care of us. It still brings tears to my face just thinking about it.
I spent most of my professional life as an educator. First as an elementary school teacher then as a principal. I managed a restaurant for year then as a middle schoo principal and finally as a schoo supervisor for the department of education here in Arkansas. I wanted to earn my doctorate but had to give that up when the money ran out. I moved my family back to AR where the cost of living is much less than it was in MI. I have spent recent years writing a Christian book which has now been published and is being distributed online and in bookstores. It hasn't done well but it does give me something to do now that I'm finished writing it.

I am going to try to post the press release here and then I will likely split my time between senior forums, facebook and Christian chat rooms:

“Without Doubt”: a potent and encouraging opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation. “Without Doubt” is the creation of published author Bill Whitmire.
Whitmire shares, “There is no doubt about it, God’s purpose is to save the world and He has a plan to accomplish it in Christ. Everyone who believes Him seeks understanding without biases. Anyone who denies him is the Antichrist.
“Praise God that He will save every soul that we love. Praise God that He will save every soul that we despise. Praise God that He will save us all. Praise God that His justice is the salvation of an unjust world. Praise God that His mercy, and His grace cannot be compromised by the sins of men.
“He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment— to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. (Eph. 1:9–11 NIV)”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Bill Whitmire’s new book is a compelling personal Bible study.
Whitmire’s passion for the Word of God is apparent within the pages of this charismatic discussion of Christ.
Consumers can purchase “Without Doubt” at traditional brick & mortar bookstores, or online at Amazon.com, Apple iTunes store, or Barnes and Noble.

Very sorry about the difficulties that you have faced. Quite an achievement to finish and publish a book! My wife and I are published poets. I took a shot at a novel back in 1998. Got 50 pages in. 24 years later, still only 50 pages in. A lot harder than it looks!

My wife and I are people of faith, so we honor your life of faith and publishing a work of faith. My wife is the Media Relations Director of Seton Hall University (a Catholic university).

213d6715-9f7a-48e8-a5e0-9b6628d3c97d.jpeg @MrWhit BIG HELLO.....Happy you've found SF. You've had more than your share of challenges, sorry for that, but you seem to have great strength. This is a great place for sharing, learning, support, and so much more. Make yourself at home and ENJOY.

THank you for your response. It feels good to know that you've been noticed. I am encouraged to want to explore the forum now. My book is about the details of God's plan to save the world through Christ. I know that most first time authors seldom sell many books. It is often that they sell less than one so I don't worry too much about it. I do have a second one in mind because I got so much spiritually writing the first.

Glad you're enjoying it so far. if you're posting your replies in the box under the last post on any thread, and then pressing send there's no reason why they wouldn't be seen. if you're sending Private messages to people then for that to reach people, you have to have been a member for about a week if I remember correctly, and or with at least 30 posts

if you're having any problems just tell us, we'll be happy to help.. some people need to know for example how to turn off email notifications from the forum, others might want to know how to quote..if you have any questions you may find the answers already here on the questions and answers thread... on this link... or you may post your question there... or in fact on any thread .. and we will do our best to help, we were all new once..(y)

It is an exciting day for me. The press release for my new book, "Without doubt" by Bill Whitmire will go out to 4000 locations througout to US. and Canada. If you are unaware or curious about why so many people are turning to the belief that every soul will be saved with documentation, This is a book that the author is praying that you will read. It is not intended that readers will change religions. I do believe that the Spirit will give you increase in love, faith, joy and peace. Surely we all agree that we need it after the last couple of days. If you will forgive my excitement, I will try not to mention it in this group again today.

Welcome from New York.
I have not found such a welcoming and friendly place anywhere on the internet. Maybe it's because we old enough to bore anyone under the age of 55. I'll be 70 in a couple of months. Three teenage boys were seated at Taco Bell a few months ago wearing their "class of 2020" T-shirts." I walked up to them and said, "I want one of those T-shirts, of course mine would say,"class of. 1970." All three of them gasped simultaneously. I walked away and my wife and I had a good laugh. I still want one of those shirts. Also, I want one of them that says, "I don't want to, I don't have to, You can't make me, I'm retired!"
