Return Of Marx?

Ive always loved Groucho and Chico ,oh wait a sec are we talking about the same thing?

4th!.... over here. The World needs Groucho a lot more than Karl.

Worth a respectful discussion?:anyone:

Yes, I'm on for it but 'tabu' subjects are perhaps better discussed in Speakers Corner? At least there no one can claim to be accidentally offended can they?
Which aspect is tabu in US, Il Papa or Karl???

I've just surfaced so in outline my initial opinion of the premise that the Vatican may be turning Marxist could only have come from Lewis Carrol or from the Genghis Khan Academy of Mercy and Philanthropy.

I'll have a look for the thread again later when I'm fully conscious.

When I was teaching in a catholic school one of the parents complained to the Bishop that our RE program was Marxist.
Coincidentally he was an American.

The Bishop disagreed and said that our program was gospel based.

Top marx to that Bishop, Warrigal.

He was one of the good guys, and a real sweetie.

He was a guest at one of our debutantes balls when I was Deputy Principal. Dear hubby, who had little experience of clergy of any stripe, and certainly none of a bishop, addressed him with this question,

"Hey, Bish! Can I get you another whiskey?"
Bish never turned a hair, and happily accepted the drink.

I've just read the link in the OP.
I don't find it al all surprising that a man who styles himself after Francis of Assisi should have these views.

I'm listening to Brooks and Shields now talking about this issue.
Is it really taboo to discuss the economic theories of Karl Marx in the USA ?

I just read the whole article. If history is any indicator I think if Frank plans on bucking the system and raiding and redistributing the Vatican coffers they'd better dust off the guest accommodation for the voting Cardinals and check their supply of black and white smoke canisters 'cos they're gonna need a replacement Pope soonish.

His sentiment may appear a Christian adherence to the true meaning of the gospels but they ain't the rules 'the business' runs on.
