Rewriting history/ww2 atrocities

I should start by telling you I'm in a very bad mood today. Why? I just watched "Tokyo Trial" on Netflix

I did not notice, at the beginning of the docu-drama that it was produced by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK).

I thought I was going to get an honest look at an important piece of WW2 history.

That didn't happen. The producers (NHK) focused on what they called the "illegality" of the war crimes trials.

The main thrust was that since there was no widely accepted international law forbidding military aggression against other nations, and no law that prohibited atrocities, the trial was illegal.

I began to become quite uncomfortible when the docu-drama failed to show any film evidence of military aggression, or worse yet, no film evidence of atrocities committed under cover of war.

To select one example of hundreds, the producers failed to even mention the sexual slavery of hundreds of thousands of women and very young girls.

When I lived in The Philippines, a GF told me about her grand-mother who was forced to "service" 40-50 Japanese men/day from 1941-1944. Her grand-mother physically survived, but mentally never recovered.

This docu-drama is yet another attempt by the Japanese to avoid any responsibility for the pacific WW2.

Am I angry at NHK and Netflix ? You're **** right I'm mad.

War is hellish ! During that time, I guess people figure....."Whatever it takes!?"

(That was MY war, but I was in the ETO as a bomber pilot.)
