Right or wrong I just wish everyone would get on the same page.

As most of you know we have had covid. I'm 95% better and the hubby has been left with a very nasty cough,
We both are well past The incubation period.

During this time the hubby has had underling problems. Tests are pointing toward a hernia with some fluid build up. Nothing to do with covid.
He needed to see a surgeon who I finally got an appointment with after 3 weeks.
He has a Thursday appointment,

This morning we got the usual reminder on the phone but they added that if he has a fever or cough to call the office,
The hubby true to form, was furious since he is uncomfortable and has waited 3 weeks.
I told him I have to call or I'm not going with him. He is barking like a dog and anyone in their right mind is going to know he is coughing and its not fair not to alert them.
I called and explained the situation.
Her answer to that was that she didn't know what to tell me.
Wouldn't you think if they updated the message the staff would know what to say when someone called? I told her I needed to know what to do. She didn't put me on hold but finally decided to let us come in.
I can only imagine what confusion there will be in the future.
At the very least everyone working in the same office or area should be on the same page.
The hubby calmed for now and I lived to tell the tale.

Couldn't he see the doctor through Telehealth, at least for now, until his cough went away? Good luck. Hope all goes well with your husband's hernia!

Been there so I know what you're going through. Hope he gets the hernia fixed fast. I had two back in 1995. Dr. did the scope repair & while in there he looked around & found the other side was about to go, so he fixed that. Then he found 2 more up close to the bottom of my rib cage where the intestines were about to come through. so he fixed them. Got everything done on one trip.

Using the scope was a very easy surgery but the recovery took 2 months as Dr. said don't blow those repairs out again.

What a poor extended time, that you have been having.

I am glad at the least, that you are improving from the covid bout,
and I hope his cough will improve too, and that you can both make some progress very soon,
toward some better days, ahead.

(I hope they don't call you back, before Thursday, with some other decision they come to!:oops:o_O )

Best wishes Ruth for you and hubby... the same thing happens here, and the frustration is worsened by the fact that half the medical staff are off sick with the latest covid Variant... so people are waiting weeks, nay.. months to be seen by a doctor in many areas

My ex husband had a Hernia so I know how much pain your husband must be in , especially given the hard coughing on top...

Fingers crossed you can get some resolution for him very soon

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear what you have been going through. My partner and I had Covid in February 2020, and the raspy cough and congestion took months to go away. Hang in there as it will eventually go away.

I hope your hubby gets treatment for his hernia quickly. Yes, doctor's offices seem to be very confused these days. :(

I so sorry for what you are going through. You're absolutely right. They need to get their act together. COVID has caused so much confusion on so many levels that it's just sad. Please get well soon and stay well. I hope you husband feels much better soon.
