Well, I listed some of my favorites from 1959 or around there.
( the best year for music IMO)
You see, Jim Croce came along much later.
 
I don't know if my mental hard drive is just full or what but my short term memory is getting worse but yet I can remember every word and can sign right along with Bobby Darin and Dream Lover and about 1/4 of the other songs listed above......this getting older ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Ah, One of my very favorite songs!
 
I remember most of these songs but can only sing a few verses of each of them, which is why I have an "earworm" always stuck in my head. I'm always singing verses in my head but not the whole song. When you can't finish them they never leave your head.
 
I remember and can sing every one of them. Not bragging,just have a hubby who listens to these all the time. His ancient Ipod is the family joke-he always wants to play "his music" at family getogethers. Having had way older siblings,I was listening to all of that music from a very young age. Still have 50s and 60s stations locked in on my XM in the car. Never gets old.
 
I also remember most of them and know the words to a few of them. In 1959 I was 22 years old and had many of these songs on records. Stagger Lee was real popular at that time. Rock Around the Clock, Bill Haley, was one of my all time favorites. I guess it still is.

Bonnie? "Some softly to me", one of my very favorite too!

I too, am in the can't sing brigade, but I heard most of those
in my head while reading your list Gaer, I liked that era a lot,
for music.
