Rip Van Winkelette....

Last night I came home from a particularly strenuous day with the little'uns, and I was so tired I thought I was going to die.

I fell into bed at 8:00 p.m. (my usual bedtime is 1 or 2 a.m.) and slept like the dead for TWELVE SOLID HOURS. I don't think I even turned over. I woke up at 9:00 this morning and I was so stiff I could barely roll out of bed. A 72-year-old body isn't supposed to go twelve hours without moving...… I limbered up pretty fast, though.

When was the last time you slept for twelve hours straight? And were you "crippled" when you got up?

I can think of 2 times:
I stayed awake waiting to hear late Sen.George McGovern give his acceptance speech at Dem Convention in '72.He didn't appear until 5am.I went to bed shortly afterwards, when I woke up was surprised I slept that long
In the 80's,came back from visiting a friend in Calif, decided to stay awake as long as possible.I slept for 12 hrs,did feel groggy but not in any pain that I recall
