Rite Aid closing multiple stores.

If you're a Rite Aid customer, you had better check if your store is closing. Multiple Rite Aids are closing. Supposedly maybe all Rite Aids are closing????
I was at Rite Aid last night, and there's was no sign that they were closing. I called and Monday will be the last day for my local Rite Aid. I only found out about this when I called my MD for a refill, this morning. She said they have a huge list of store closures.

The CVS in my neighborhood has closed. I drive a neighbor to one five miles away. It is overcrowded and there is often a long wait for a prescription.

Rite Aid bit the dust. I had been with R.A. for 20 years. So, I became a CVS customer. I've picked up several scripts at CNS by now. And guess what-I didn't pay a dime for them. The pharmacist said ," your insurance picked up the cost". For 20 years, I've been paying cash for all my meds, AND my insurance has been picking up the tab??????🫤🫤🫤
NOT once did my insurance ever cover the cost @ R.A.
No good Rite Aid, rot in....................🤬🤬🤬

We started with 3 pharmacies. CVS left about 5 years ago for unknown reasons & we were down to the Rite Aid & a small Mom/Pop drug store. Rite Aid closed all of their Ohio stores a year ago.

The Mom/Pop can't keep up with scripts & a lot of people now have to drive about 5 miles to the next town to get them from bigger pharms. Those stores are packed since the Rite Aid in that town closed down their customers had to find a new store.

One little town south of us only had a Rite Aid. I have no idea where they get their scripts now since it's a longer drive for them. I've seen a billboard advertising getting your scripts delivered, but I have no idea where this company (never heard of it) is out of.

Rite-aid closed by me in June. The only Pharmacy in my town. Now, I travel 20 miles one way to Walmart to get refills.

Folks were thrilled with the closeout deals they were getting at 70% off. Now, not so happy they have to travel for refills.

I'm sure medicare and medicaid cuts are affecting pharmacies just like they affect hospitals. The recent cuts are helping to close doors in some smaller hospitals in Kansas. I'm sure some pharmacies will likely close as well.

See that's why I get my prescriptions filled at Walmart Pharmacy but you know you can also shop there if I really had a choice I'd probably deal with Costco instead.

Of course it also depends on your insurance because some of them you can go to whatever Pharmacy and some are restrictive

Pharmacies have been closing for several years, many citing retail theft. Medicaid cuts may impact pharmacies in the future but changes aren't in effect yet ...won't be until 2027, possibly late 2026.

My local Rite Aid says it will stay open, up and running until August 2026.
It is my main pharmacy also.
