Robert Redford Dead at 89

I was shocked to hear of his passing, I don't know why I thought he'd just keep living. RIP Robert.

Sad to hear, but he was 89 and seemed to live a life without any serious medical problems. Great actor and nice guy. My favorite was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I don't think he was in anything I didn't like.

I read he died peacefully in his sleep. That is the way I hope to go. My hubs still accuses me of being in love with him because of his looks. I still invoke the 5th when such wild accusations are made.

Oddly, I had the same reaction, but then I never thought of him as old. But 89? He did pretty well then.

The Sundance Film Festival brought countless talents to the public. I hope it continues in his memory.

My heart dropped down to my shoes when I heard this today. My next reaction was to think of my mother, who loved him madly.

Every once in a while Robert Redford can be spotted in early television shows from the late 50s and early 60s.

I didn't see a lot of his work, but enjoyed watching "The Way We Were" (also starring Streisand) several times.

IMO that is his best movie, and it's one of my top 3 faves. I'd watch it tonight but I saw it fairly recently (few months ago) and don't want to ruin it which I've learned from other beloved films can happen.

Such a talented actor gone. I haven't seen any reports that he'd been ill, just that he died peacefully in his sleep.

May he Rest In Peace. I liked many of his movies, but my favorites were Out of Africa followed by Jeramiah Johnson.

He was in Dayton filming The Old Man & the Gun in 2017. While in town, he went to the Oakwood Club to eat several times. A few weeks after they finished, we had gone to the Oakwood for dinner & had the waitress who waited on him. She said she didn't recognize him at first & then realized who he was. She said he was a very polite to everyone.
