Roberta Flack dead at 88

As soon as I heard this yesterday, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, has been running non-stop in my head. I'll never forget hearing it for the first time when I went to see Clint Eastwood's, Play Misty For Me. What a song and voice. Wow. Sung right from the heart. May she rest in peace. ALS is a terrible disease.

Singer Roberta Flack has died at the age of 88.

The 1970s R&B legend was known for hits like Killing Me Softly With His Song and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.

Her representatives announced her passing but did not offer a cause of death, as reported by Variety.

She died peacefully surrounded by her family. Roberta broke boundaries and records. She was also a proud educator.'

Flack announced in 2022 she had ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and could no longer sing.

The Grammy-winning singer and pianist's intimate vocal and musical style made her one of the top recordings artists of the 1970s and an influential performer long after.

R.I.P
She suffered from ALS for several years, Holly.

I just watched the clip from the movie where she sings this while Eastwood and his girlfriend are walking on the beach and the woods surrounding that area. It culminates in their making love and it just blows you away,
