No perhaps about it. Putin has an election coming up and Navalny was most likely silenced.

The Russian economy is tanking due to sanctions and with half a million soldiers either dead or wounded the home front is turning against the war and Putin. Navalny represented all the things Putin is not. His death will hurt Putin.
