Russian company shuts down gas pipeline to Germany

The European nations will soon begin to feel the impact of this Ukrainian/Russia conflict as Russia begins to impose its own set of "sanctions". Ultimately, this whole mess is going to create some serious financial/economic conditions for both Europe and Russia....and will probably spill over to much of the rest of the world.

I guess Putin didn't blink when he told those countries they'll have to pay for oil in Ruble's. Sanctions have consequences and trying to devalue the Ruble has now backfired. Sadly, it's people, not the govt. who will have to suffer. :(

Not seeing in the article, where the pipeline is being shutdown...
Russia's Gazprom (GAZP.MM) said on Friday it was quitting its business in Germany at a moment of crisis in the vital energy ties between the two countries in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Yafimava said she did not expect any impact on Russian gas deliveries under long-term contracts. A market source in Germany with knowledge of the Russian gas business agreed with that assessment.
As to how this will impact Germany next winter over Astora... is TBD.

Germany and European countries should look into their power plants that can still burn coal and convert to coal for electrical production. After all Coal is King. I remember as a child family and friends that would only heat two or three rooms during the cold in order to not have such high heating bills.

On the bright side, it's spring, so we don't need as much fuel for heating or cooling. See how considerate Putin is? What a guy!
