Sad Day Today

I work part time mornings at the local supermarket until 10:00 a.m. I was home maybe only about 20 minutes when the phone rang and I could see on the TV that it was my sister calling.

She asked me if I was doing OK. Unusual question from her to me. I knew something was up. She then told me that her daughter, my niece, died last evening. She was only 53. I was stunned, as is the rest of the family. She had lost her left leg just a few years ago due to an untreated infection.

No details today, so I guess the Coroner must have requested an autopsy. It’s going to be a sad holiday around my home, but we’ll get through it.

I don’t know why I’m even talking about this. Maybe I just need to air it out.

My condolences .. such a shock, and far too young. It will be so difficult for your sister, this loss.

Please accept my condolences Oldman and pass them along to your sister.

So sad at such a young age.

Mike.

Very sad news, oldman. From your post, it sounds as though this was quite unexpected . . . such a terrible shock for your family. Does your sister live near to you? Were you and your niece close? Keep us posted. You're all in my prayers.

I've sent a prayer that you and your family are drawn closer together and comforted during this time of deep sadness. I share in your sadness too. Try to stay strong for your sister, @oldman give her a hug, tell her you love her and will be here for her if she needs your for anything. Share with your sister all the good memories you can remember of her daughter. It will begin to heal her heart as she listens to you share. And we're here for you, oldman.
