Sad end to Gum tree.

Our neighbors across the street told me a few weeks back their Gum tree in the back garden, was starting to lean downwards, well yesterday it finally fell down, a nice native tree,shame really..But Gum Trees can do this with no warning sometimes! best viewed full screen.

RIP Gum Tree. I'm not familiar with them but they appear to be pretty trees. It was beyond leaning.

I remember a song from elementary school about the kookaburra that sits in the old gum tree. Merry merry king of the bush is he. Laugh kookaburra laugh. Gay your life must be. Wonder how much laughing there was when the damn thing fell. Sorry. I have trees all around my house that shed limbs every time the wind blows.

It’s good that the tree was leaning away from the house.

A month ago a wild wind came through and took out a neighbour’s tree. It was a beauty. There were numerous other large trees along the street that were actually leaning at significant angles. They were missed.
