I first became aware of Treat Williams when I started watching the T.V. series Everwood. I thought he was very cute sporting the mustache and beard and liked the character he played. I was a fan of the show until the very end. Just this past week, I saw him in an episode of Blue Bloods. I wasn't even aware that he was in the movie version of Hair. I saw on GMA today that he was killed after being hit by an SUV while on his motorcycle. He was known as a really nice guy. So sad! Rest In Paradise Mr. Williams. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/12/entertainment/treat-williams-death/index.html

I saw in the news that he was 71 yrs old. To a younger me I would have thought 'he'd lived a full lifetime', but to current me my thoughts are 'he was so young, so many years to go'. Very sad. Wish motorcycles were safer somehow (force field bubble around them or something).

Unless I'm mistaken, motorcycles sure have a good success rate of killing off a certain type of "MAN." Happens every few days where I come from. Yet, I see men driving motorcycles dressed in shorts. Yuck!

One of the most common causes of motorcycle accidents are left turning vehicles crossing the path of an oncoming motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction and by the time the rider sees the vehicle making the turn it's usually too late for evasive action :( That's exactly what happened in this instance.

R.I.P. fellow rider 🙏

Just a few hours ago, in the province where I live 10 people have been killed. I'm not sure of the details but it seems to me that a semi hit a van full of handi-cappers. Read about it here:

They may or not tell you the truth but I figure it's the speed that kills today. Where ever I travel around here everyone is speeding all the time. I almost never see the police around. Guess they are sitting looking at their computers in their A/C offices? I always travel at the recommended speed with my cruise control on. Everyone passes me like I was standing still.

There is absolutely no reason for this madness of speeding everywhere all the time. Guess folks just don't want to live anymore. Sometimes I can't blame them considering the direction my country is going but death on the highway at high speed is not a good way to protest the present situation anywhere.

They say, "Speed Kills" but nobody is listening.

It's a hard, cold fact of life that when a motorcycle hits a car, a truck, a SUV or whatever, the motorcycle always loses. Can't figure why men can't understand this simple premise.

I know what I'm talking about. I bought a motorcycle in Frankfurt, Germany in 1970. I drove all over Europe for several months; from Ukraine Border to Spain. Almost got killed several times. Never again.

I did the left turn thing in front of a motorcycle rider once. He looked like he was going to jump off the bike. It wasn't his day to die thankfully. They often speed and harass other motorists around here. Hopefully he's driving with care from now on. Too bad for Mr. Williams. Motorcycles are deathtraps.

I wish they had force fields around them too. Several years ago my honorary son told me he flipped his motorcycle right around the corner from my house and wound up on the ground. I told him if I had seen that, I probably would have had a heart attack! He since got rid of the bike and moved to Florida.

@WhatInThe I didn't realize when I saw him in an old episode that his was a recurring character until you mentioned seeing him in a recent episode. I'm still a couple of seasons behind.

@Bella Wonderful array of pictures of him with different looks and styles. Thank you for posting them. 🤗

Until my BFF mentioned it, Ididn't know he had a drug addiction. Much to his credit, he beat it and came back stronger. I also didn't realize how highly acclaimed he was.
"Williams was open about his struggles with drug addiction during the 1980s, which he believed hampered his career at a time when he was being called an "up-and-coming Pacino or De Niro".[18] Speaking in 1995, he said: "[My film career] was stopped by my lack of focus and use of cocaine. I mean, I wanted to party more than I wanted to focus on my work … You don't realize, unfortunately, until later on how fleeting fame and power in Hollywood are … I screwed it up, and I think you have to be true about these things to move on. Otherwise you've always got that little skeleton".[18]

I still can't believe he was taken out like that! 😪

Just as mentioned I often wondered why he didn't hit super star status. Some actors just want to be working but most also know once their youthful looks are gone their careers start peaking out.

He was smart enough to stop unlike many of his colleagues. The scary part is that his addiction wasn't a Hollywood issue. At least he realized the affects on his daily life including motivation and ambition.

Him not being a 'super star' may have helped him stop because if he was part of popular movie franchise or tv show he would've been enabled to keep the show/movie going for the benefit of others.

I was happy to see that Blue Bloods did a very nice tribute episode to Treat.in their final season. His character was revealed to have cancer last season, so the story was he succumbed to that and left his daughter and Police Commissioner Reagan reeling. R.I.P. Treat. 😞
