Sadie is a Bernese Mountain Dog we rescued from an Amish puppy farm in Ohio. She has been a part of household maybe 2 years now. As a breeding dog she was traumatized and not yet recovered. She is my wife’s dog who will not come to me.
For three weeks now Sadie decides her people should get out of bed and come downstairs. To inspire my wife and I to take such an expedition, Sadie barks relentlessly until one of us comes downstairs. I am usually the first to arise as I tend to Charlie’s needs, medication and food. Plus, I use this time while everyone is still asleep to spend quality time with Charlie.
In the mean time, Sadie is getting ready to call the rest of our crew downstairs. Once she starts barking, Charlie and I go to the landry room to wait until my gives the all clear. At that point, Charlie and walk through the dining where my wife and other three dogs wait until we pass.
I put up the dog gate between the livingroom and dining room while Charlie huffs and puffs to show off his authority features.
Charlie stays in the living room with me, occasionally my wife comes into the room but not often. The three dogs are free to roam in and out of the kitchen, landry room, dining room where each dog has his/her own crate.
I had someone from Vermont interested in Charlie but backed out yesterday. Any one interested in Bernese Mountain Dog / German Shepherd mix neutored, up to date on shots etc.. If so I am willing meet halfway within reason
