Satirical wise book on exercise regimens

I read a clever novel on seniors and passions for exercise, mainly marathons. Written from the POV
of a woman in 60s and her family. The Motion of the Body Through Space by Lionel Shriver, in paperback.
Acclaimed author. She damns the whole organized marathon triathlon business with wise notes on growing old
with infirmities...and trying to enjoy life while doing nothing special. Not overdoing it.
Sarcastic wit. I just thought you would enjoy this quick read. A little sad.

Thank you for reminding me of Lionel Shriver, I think she's brilliant.

I read "We Need to Talk About Kevin," and was blown away. Then I read, "Big Brother," and thought she was too harsh on the brother character, but it was still unique. I'll see if my library can find me a large print version of, "The Motion of the Body,"

I couldn't finish "Big Brother." My review said, "this book is too fat." But I read "We need to talk about Kevin" and enjoy a lot of her journalism. (maybe she's one of these writers like David Foster Wallace and George Orwell who are better journalists than fiction writers).
I will definitely look at "The Motion of the Body Through Space," as I'm really not a fan of the sort of public race that starts in a town centre on a Sunday morning and wakes everybody up. (smaller-scale races organised by local running clubs, I used to enjoy. I don't run these days). I wonder if Shriver gets 'running culture' right, as Stephen King failed to in "Elevation."

We seniors beat up our poor knees, hips, and back with too much walking/jogging/running while we could focus on muscle maintenance, strength training, balance, flexibility, core and posture, and low-impact joint strength like taichi or pool work.

I was 12 when mom looked into her crystal ball and said I would pay for my antics someday. I was in my 40’s when I realized she was right. I am now pushing 78 and could barely stand with a cane while my horse got his hooves trimmed yesterday.

it’s what happens when you ride your snowmobile like it’s the general Lee on the Dukes of Hazzard, and when you go after sour horses to reschool that none of your 6 foot tall trail riding buddies would think of going near. I never was a sit on the front porch kind of person; it was play with the big dogs or go home.

Hope I'm posting this in the right place.
Today I decided to revisit an old workout forum I frequented years ago.
I saw mentions of discussions, but searched for nearly 30 min. and never found the message board.
Instead, the site is inundated thoroughly with Supplements, Memberships. Mainly Supplements. Because we are all rich. LOL
It all has become "Ways to take your money".
If I wanted that I could go back to buy groceries like yesterday. Omg
