Saturday and Sunday

This was supposed to be the weekend where we were going to blast through the bathroom renovations and get a lot of work done. No commitments, no appointments, (unusual for us) time on our hands to focus on the bathroom.

Nope. The universe decided otherwise. :ROFLMAO: This was Saturday...my daughter Paige and her family swung by to drop off some plants for me. One thing led to another and before long her kids and Ron's grandkids were out in the yard going full tilt and then Ron's daughter and son in law joined everyone and before long it was time for dinner! It was a very fun day.

And then Sunday, we were going to play catchup on getting the bathroom rolling, but The Universe decided to intervene once again!

"Gramma, we miss you can we come and see you?" I mean really! What would YOU have done????

Cooks in training.

The bathroom can wait. Family is much more important. I learned that to late in life. Cleaning the house, yard work was always top priority when my kids were growing up. I missed a lot of time sharing experiences with them and just picking up to go to a lake for a picnic or having time to go for a walk was out of the question. I'm so happy my daughter doesn't do as I did.

The best encounters ever! Isn’t it great that kids their age would rather come and visit you than anything else!

I completely agree! Though I'm also realistic....I also assume that they were bored and looking for something to do ;) But even under those circumstances, that they thought of me is pretty special and I love it!

@Ronni what a great weekend! I loved the pine cone collection...who doesn't love pine cones? 🌲

All the kids are lovely and I could "feel" their energy! Nice to see you too, on video!

Thanks @RadishRose! I look pretty goofy :ROFLMAO: but I don't give a you-know-what! Way more important to me is to make those memories with my family than looking picture-perfect!

Yeah, I get that. I was pretty good at giving my kids my time and attention, but even so I'm much better with the grands. I think part of it is because when I'm with them, ALL of me is with them because I only have them for a short time and I want to make it special and fun. Like you, I'm very grateful that my kids are so giving of their time to their own children. It's something I talked to them about, under the category of "things I'd do differently." And they listened!
