Save your $$$$

Apparently tonight's UK lottery has a jackpot of ÂŁ50million! I would never waste my money on lottery tickets.

I have a lottery subscription in the UK and I don't feel I'm wasting my money as I can see evidence of some of the Good Causes it goes to in my local area.

I am in two office pools.... Plus I think hubby and I will buy $10 worth of tickets today.... Heck.. I've lost more money in the bottom of my purse.. and we have a chance to dream for a day.... make plans.... etc... $10 is a cheap price to pay for that.

It's now up to $900M. I just got back from the store; kind of a long line but not too bad. I got tickets for tonight and also the next drawing (Wednesday) just in case it gets really crazy. I hope some people hit tonight.

Regarding remaining anonymous, I found this:

Currently six states — Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina — allow lottery winners to remain anonymous. And four more — Colorado, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts — allow anonymity if the winners claim their winnings through a trust.

So in the other 40 states you have to be public about it. I always thought going on TV to claim lottery is CRAZY.

I agree. You know your name will be in every paper lol. I didn't realize it was required to be identified. Oh well..might as well enjoy the 5 minutes of fame then tell the chauffeur to drive you home..in the other direction. :)
