Seen this one before but not sure if its been posted here.

Scenario :
Johnny and Mark get into a fight after school.

1945 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best
friends.

2012 - Police called, and they arrest Johnny and Mark. Charge them with
assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it. Both children go to
anger management programmes for 3 months. School governors hold meeting to
implement bullying prevention programmes.

Scenario :
Robbie won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1945 - Robbie sent to the office and given six of the best by the Principal.
Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.

2012 - Robbie given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADHD
- result deemed to be positive. Robbie's parents get fortnightly disability
payments and school gets extra funding from government because Robbie has a
disability.

Scenario :
Billy breaks a window in his neighbour's car and his Dad gives him a
whipping with his belt.

1945 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college,
and becomes a successful businessman.

2012 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster
care; joins a gang; ends up in jail.

Scenario :
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.

1945 - Mark gets glass of water from Principal to take aspirin with. Passes
exams, becomes a solicitor.

2012- Police called, car searched for drugs and weapons. Mark expelled from
school for drug taking. Ends up as a drop out.

Scenario :
Johnny takes apart leftover fireworks from Cracker night, puts them in a
paint tin & blows up a wasp's nest.

1945 - Wasps die.

2012- Police & Anti-Terrorism Squad called. Johnny charged with domestic
terrorism, investigate parents, siblings removed from home, computers
confiscated. Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed
to fly in an airplane again.

Scenario :
Johnny falls over while running during morning break and scrapes his knee.
He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. She hugs him to comfort him.

1945 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing footie. No
damage done.

2012 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She
faces 3 years in prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy and ends up
gay.

This should be sent to every e-mail address you know to remind us how stupid
we have become!

Most of us see how stupid we've become Cas, it's our Nanny Governments that haven't gotten the message that PCness comes with a hefty price. It costs common sense. That's a hard deficit to turn round.
 

I like this one.

1945 Johnny is a bad boy at school... the teacher beats the crap outa Johnny and he becomes a good boy.

2012 Johnny is a bad boy at school.... teacher isn't allowed to touch the boy for fear of criminal assault charges.... so, Johnny remains a bad boy.
 
I am a retired school teacher I taught for over 30 years, and have been retired for 2 years. Even 7 years ago we could still paddle. At the beginning of the year I hung my paddle on the wall at the front of the room. I never had to paddle any student, and I taught in some fairly rough schools during my career. The first day of class I would tell my students that I never paddled a student and didn't like to. However, if they acted up and prevented from teaching I would paddle them. Since they would be the first I would make an example of them, and they would be severely paddled. After that all I had to do when a child disrupted my class was walk toward the paddle, and look back at the student. By the end of the year all I would have to do is look at the child misbehaving, and then look at the paddle. Unfortunately there was always 1 or 2 teachers who abused it, which is part of the reason why it changed.

Here is a couple more:

1945- Johnny disrupts the class, and the teacher contacts his parents. When Johnny gets home from school he is paddled by his father. His father also brings him to school the next morning, and makes him apologize to the teacher in front of the class. Johnny decides it is not worth it to disrupt the class.

2012- Parents come to the school, complaining that the teacher is picking on their child. Teacher is called in to the principal's office and is written up, and told if they do it again they will be fired.

1945- Johnny gets mad at the teacher, because she is telling him to do his work. He tells the teacher she is a Bi***, and to go to hell. He is sent to the principal and expelled from school. Johnny learns that cussing people out is unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated.

2012- Johnny comes back from the principals office a few minutes later smiling. Teacher is called to the principal's office,and told not to write students up for cussing her out in front of the class, because that is just how things are today. Johnny learns this behavior is ok, and cusses out his boss when he grows up and is fired from his job.

1945- Johnny disrupts the class preventing the teacher from teaching repeated. The teacher finally raises her voice at Johnny telling him to sit down and stop what he is doing. Johnny goes home and tells his parents that the teacher yelled at him. His parents punished him for upsetting his teacher.

2012- Parents complain to the school and the teacher is arrested for simple assault. The police come to the school handcuff the teacher, and remove her/him.

1945- Johnny is caught cheating on a spelling test. He receives a -0- on the test. His parents punish him severely when they find out. Johnny studies his words for the next week and makes 100 on his test.

2012- Teacher is called to the principal's office, and is told that her tests are too hard, and that is why Johnny had to cheat. That instead of 20 words Johnny just gets 5 words to learn each week and never learns to spell very well.

I could go on and on.
 
I don't understand why such a rare thing as good sense is still called "common" There was a time when it prevailed, but no more.

It's almost non-existent in all people of authority, from the lowly school principle to the heads of government.

What happened? We stopped allowing teachers to teach. They spend so much time teaching the state test and filling out paperwork to prove they are doing their job, they don't have time to teach. Children are allowed to do anything, and if teachers try to control them the teacher gets in trouble.
 
I went to a Catholic grade school, and the nuns would hit some of the kids who were disruptive and acting up. I was never hit, but I knew if I was, my mother would give it to me again when I got home. Parent's attitudes back then were if the nuns had to do it, then there was a good reason (and there was).

People are becoming so "sensitive" to everything, everyone is so worried about being "politically correct", the kids are becoming spoiled brats who receive no punishment for their bad behavior. Children are threatening their parents and teachers, anyone in authority, showing no courtesy or respect...and the government has its nose in everything to make it even worse.

Boys are becoming wussies, playing with nerf balls only in school sports and gym class. Instead of children being recognized and rewarded for good grades and hard work, they are pushed aside, because nobody wants to "hurt the feelings" of poor little Johnny who gets Ds because he's on his facebook or playing video games every day after school, instead of studying.

Kids used to play cowboys and Indians with toy guns when I was young, now they're suspending 7 year olds because they made their fingers into the shape of a gun...insanity I tell you! :rolleyes:

These are things I just learned of second hand, but I have no reason to believe they're not true. The future is in jeopardy, thanks to coddling parents, and big government getting involved in family matters.

In the 50's, schoolteachers in Australia had a wonderful assortment of "weapons" to beat us kids with.

The most common one being the good old "cane". One of my teachers was particularly cruel and deliberately split the cane down its length so it would inflict more bite when swung hard against the palm of the victims outstretched palm.

I'm not a Catholic but many of my friends were and went to exclusive Catholic schools. For some strange reason the Catholic school teachers preferred the "strap".... I never did see one so I cant tell you if it was a leather strap or otherwise... maybe some of you Catholic people may be able to help with the description of that one.

My mum had a nice razor-strop which remained in our family for many years as the peace-keeper. Many times my bum wore the imprint of that razor-strop...
and yet I had the utmost respect for any beating I got either at school or at home.
 
Tezza......I went to a Catholic Girls College from prep to year 10......the nuns there used a ruler for a rap across the knuckles or the back of the legs.....can't remember copping it but do remember others receiving the wrath of the nuns.
I must say, there was one or two of the nuns who were very strict.

I remember Mrs. Thomas that if you were caught chewing gum in class, she would make you stand in hallway, while classes were passing, with the gum stuck on the end of your nose.

Mr. Collins had a red rubber hose and all he had to was to slam it on his desk. Intimidation, you bet.

Mr. Elia use the "spot". A swat on the back of the head like Gibbs does on NCIS.

All of us turned out pretty good and never got caught a second time. I behaved just because I didn't want to be embarrassed.

Sue the school, not. We just hoped our parents did not find out.
