School principal tackles school shooter

Did he see the prospective shooter on a monitor from a camera? That seemed too coincidental that he came out the door immediately prepared for action. Either if he did or didn’t is contrary to the outcome. The principal did a great job of disarming the gunman. He should be honored for his heroic effort. Had he not taken action, it’s likely that we would be reading a different outcome. According to the article I read, the gunman was planning on shooting students and administrators.

The armed person is definitely going to do some serious prison time.

The question society needs to ask is: what made that kid so angry at his school that made him want to kill students and the principle? Was he bullied? There is no mention of his mother in any of the reports. Where is she? He wanted to take out as many people as possible and then take his own life. He was suicidal.

Thinking about this it almost can seem he was expecting it.

Once inside, Hawkins allegedly pointed a gun at a female student and yelled for people to get on the ground before pulling the trigger, but the weapon malfunctioned and did not fire, according to the affidavit. He then stepped behind a vending machine to clear the malfunction before emerging and pointing the firearm at another student, the affidavit alleges.

That student raised his hands and asked not to be shot, and Hawkins allowed him to leave, the affidavit states. Moments later, Hawkins allegedly fired his weapon inside the school.

As shots rang out, Principal Kirk Moore ran from his office and attempted to apprehend Hawkins, according to the affidavit. Hawkins allegedly fired again, striking Moore in the lower right leg.

We here stories frequently about persons watching while an innocent is beaten, or harmed in other ways. We don't see enough heros like this man who may have saved countless young persons from harm or death. Amen to the hero, so very glad he wasn't harmed as well.

What a brave, heroic man. Thank God he wasn't hurt any worse than he was. I hope he gets the key to the city or some type of recognition from his city. If he hadn't already, I'm sure he's earned the respect of everyone who is in that school. I also hope they honor him for saving [who knows how many] lives.
