I never liked or watched Star Trek because it was way too phony and the "aliens" make up or costumes were on the level of a 5th grade school play. Any sci-fi show with cheap looking monsters and laughable dialogues were unwatchable to me.

I remember reading about an interview with Stephen King (I think it was) who when asked which tv show he liked better, Twilight Zone or Outer Limits, said Outer Limits because it had more monsters than TZ, that he preferred actual monsters over just ideas. I like both.
