Scottish island for sale with opening bid of $111,700

After watching a number of TV shows like Maine Cabin Masters, Building Alaska, Life Below Zero, Alaska the Last Frontier etc. I can see what a fortune it would cost to live there.

An auction house announced an entire 11-acre island in the Scottish Highlands will be auctioned online with a starting bid of $111,700.
11 acres
Nice
Seems doable with a little innovation

Sad thing is, that $112 grand is just the starting bid

I've been in on some property auctions
It gets crazy in a hurry

Best be bringin' a boat load of cash

My brother told me we had a cousin who was a psychologist (but crazy himself) who owned an island. I don't know where. Never met him. That's a bit too much seclusion for me. What if you need help? What a pain to go grocery shopping unless someone is hired to do so on a scheduled basis or the island owner is a good sailer and can go to the mainland to shop for his/herself.

I think with today's solar and wind technology and satellite technology you could get yourself the basics for a fairly comfortable existence pretty easily. However it would cost a pretty penny to get everything you needed there to build a place for living. Then again it might just be more cost effective to ship a trailer or an RV to live in while you were building your dream home.
