Season's Greetings! & Happy New Year!

I purchased a leather coat, and wow was it warm when camping in my 4Runner near Magie Valley over night on the way to S.C. Coming back Maggie valley had snow on the mountains above it. Also camping in Land Between the Lakes, Ky.

I drove in a rented Chevy Tahoe through Maggie Valley on the way to TN from FL couple yrs ago, but didn't camp. It was so spacious in the back that it would have been comfortable. Was driving me and my Mom. I-40 was closed after Asheville for repairs so we couldn't go into Knoxville that way. That's why we had to go through Maggie Valley, Cherokee, through that horrendous route through the Smoky Mtns, then Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

My elderly Mom was shocked at the patches of snow up in the Smokies. She asked what they were and I said, It's snow. Looks like it's already snowed up here. Wasn't that she had never seen snow. She just wasn't expecting it, since we were coming from November in FL, which was basically still late summer. I couldn't take that twisting, snaking, winding road back through the Smokies, so we went back through Atlanta. I know about Land Between The Lakes but haven't been there. Camping and dwelling in a small vehicle can be really cozy, especially for one person. Some people live that way for years.

I have taken that route and remember the Creek with the cascading pools and the Dozens of kids in late June enjoying them. Russellville, Tenn. has some great homes in the rural areas.
Land Between the Lakes was a dry County back then. 1986 Ish

I have no desire to fly over the Smokey Mountains,
no Mountains for the fact. Def not in or over the
Bermuda Triangle ... :coffee: ... Sort of a non-party place!
Continue on 2025 with good health!
