Second Cup of Coffee

I am enjoying my second cup of coffee and looking forward to finish Christmas shopping and buying gift bags for all of them. I love choosing each gift for each person knowing they will enjoy it. I get a thrill of actually getting out and walking in the mall or whatever store I go to and and look for that special gift. I love seeing the decorations. I love watching people in the stores. The kids, older folks, and the like. I like buying a peppermint and mocha creamer for my coffee which only appears in December where I live. There's so much more I love about this season. What do you love about it? Enjoy your second cup of coffee.

Well it's past second cups here.. it's 2pm... but I love to see Christmas lights in the town and city centres...

Shopping malls seems to have lost their Va Va voom with regard to Christmas .. they used to be magical centres...

I love it if it snows at Christmas...

Yes, I noticed that here in Texas. They used to really go all out. I thought maybe it was just too early. But, all the extra booths, there are some but not as many. But, I am determined not to let it get my spirit down!

I fill my coffee pot to the 8 cup mark and usually finished it off by noon. I drink it straight black.
I think Christmas would mean more if I had someone to share it with. The love of my life died unexpectedly last July. I do enjoy the Christmas Eve church service. The church outside is decorated and the sanctuary is all decked out, the choir singing beautiful Carols and the people coming to church at night makes it joyful to me.

In 2018, I spent Christmas in Hawaii, just for the experience. I heard so many people talk about how great being in Hawaii is for Christmas. I didn’t get that feeling over there. I was supposed to stay 8 days, but the day after Christmas, I packed up and flew to Aspen. I spoke with a friend I spent time with in the military on Christmas Day and he invited me to come and spend time with him and his wife. At first, I said I would be intruding, but his wife yelled I better get my butt out there, so I called the airline and went. That was a great time.

I am so sorry for your loss. When I retired, then became a caregiver for my husband, it was hard but he needed me. When he passed, I was at loss too. I joined a senior center and was active in church as well. I love this board because I feel I have kinda joined another senior center. lol I am very active so I find places to go and things to do. Even if it is just to get out. My dogs are so loving, my best friend.

I go to the senior center here. It’s a really nice place with lots of activities and even meals at certain times. I go now and then. I listen to their stories of when they were younger and raising their families. Some are very interesting, some are funny and a few are sad. It’s very diverse with people from everywhere, so it’s a nice place to go to kill some time. I go to church, but just once a week. I am on the spring clean-up committee and I help out in the kitchen if there is a morning funeral. I do keep busy. This forum helps some. I like the fact that no one criticizes or judges me. My niece calls me once a week. She has to call me because each time I call her, she is in a meeting, on an airplane or working.

my wife used to drink coffee all day,now i am starting to do that.does not effect my sleep at all.

I am going for my second cup now, it is 9 am here in Texas. It doesn't effect me at all either. My mother drank it all day! She drank it black, I like the many different creamers.
