I rarely go to the doctor, so I just have little info to give. I have type 2 in my immediate family, and when tested by my doctor years ago, my A1C was over 6, in 2019 I had a free glucose test at Costco, and it was 5.6. Ideally, diet and exercise will help those with diabetes. I've never been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I haven't changed much in my diet, and although I joined a gym and exercised more before coronavirus, I haven't been there for a long time. I only walk daily with the dog.
I've been taking supplements like Bitter Melon and Chromium Picolinate, recently bought some "Ceylon" cinnamon, but it's very expensive. Everyone should research supplement side effects and drug interactions, and ask their doctor before taking anything.
Kudos to those like
@Ruthanne, who have improved their health by working hard and making hard lifestyle changes. Much respect.
