Self-Medication

We all like to think that meds are prescribed to benefit our patients, our family, or even ourselves. We give and take medications with the goal for the individual to be able to achieve an optimal level of functioning.

But sometimes meds are not taken as prescribed and are abused. Sometimes, prescription meds are taken by others for whom the meds are not prescribed. This is a form of self-medication and drug abuse.

And really: Who knows what goes on inside the medicine cabinet once the door is closed?

Oh, I recognize that ointment... I'd say your nurse friend prescribed you with the wrong ointment, that's diaper rash ointment you're using! LOL!
