Selling Our House

Nice built-ins.
Yes, but I am 74 and in fragile health according to my docs, and it all won’t fit in a casket 😂.

Thanks the built-ins match the kitchen cabinets and there are a lot of those as well. It is true ly a cooks kitchen.

Signed the paperwork last night on the sale of the house. Our realtor, such a great guy, and the title person came to the house to save me the ride. The buyer was supposed to sign today as well but did not.

They said the buyer was going out of town this week end. Who does that? What kind of idiot goes out of town when they are closing on a house? Anyway, signed the paperwork, got a general total of how much money we could expect. Our realtor said he would pay for those repairs that the house needed. 😮. So nice.

The title person said the buyers would sign Monday afternoon and we would get our check Tuesday night at the latest. Since she lives out our way, she said she would bring the check to us after work. 😊. Makes me a little nervous to do it that way, but their office is in Sugarhouse and there is a lot of road construction over there and a painful ride for my hip.

The bank will hold the money till it clears so @hollydolly decided NOT to buy the car. 😭. I am too nervous to owe 4000 on my credit card since they have not signed for the loan. And, since I have picked all the money off the back yard money tree, I do not have 4000 in cash. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’d have to get that off another credit card. After I get my check, I’ll see if they still have the car.

Then the title person said she was trying to get them to sign electronically but so far they have refused.🤦🏻‍♀️ ☹️.

She leaves and the realtor gives us the list of what furniture they want. OMGOSH I told them repeatedly we WERE NOT SELLING our blue bookcases. The blue bookcases were on the list. The names I’d like to call them. Since getting this done is driving us, and everyone crazy, we decided to let the bookcases go. We have had them for several years, they are are difficult to move, and I do not want anymore delays! They are sending a check for 741 for the sofa, tv stand, room divider, and the bookcases.

Its less than it should be, but moving a sofa with a bed in it is too hard. I suppose they are thinking we would leave the other stuff and they would get it for free. Normally I would do that but they have irritated me so much with their attitude and delays that will not happen. I will be happy to put these guys behind me for sure.

They really want a storage cabinet in the bathroom, but forgot to put it on this list. It’s confusing. Anyway, we will take the cabinet, so there! 😂

We rented a storage garage. There is a rental place across the street from where we live now so very convenient. A great deal of our stuff that is packed will be moved into that storage area tomorrow and left there till we buy another house. If we decide not to buy another house, then we will move it into the apartment.

In any event, they won’t be stumbling over all these things as they move furniture, and it will be easier and faster when our son comes on Saturday to help us move. So many things to get done now that the time is here. Of course, my fibromyalgia choose this time to hit hard. 🙄. But since I can not do anything because of my hip, I doesn’t matter.

Paid minimum on all my bills since I will be paying everything off when I get the house check.

The apartment is another issue. We were going to take it for a year, but since we are moving before the final paperwork is signed it makes me too nervous and besides I don’t trust husband to stay in apartment that long.

We were told we could change the time frame anytime before we moved in so we decided to take it for 3 months in case we ended up with double rent. The apartment said no. 😳🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I had him call back, he got a different person, we can sign for a shorter term, and the monthly rent was over 2000 a month. 😱 not affordable.

What is funny is I am writing this as I watch CNN which just did a segment on rents. It said no low income person in the USofA could afford two rent a two bedroom apartment in the entire country. Specifically in California you would have to make 39 dollars an hour to qualify for a two bedroom. It also said only 7% of minimum wage earners, which is 7.25 cents an hour could afford a one bedroom. Horrid, just horrid.

We resigned the lease for 6 months which was a little over 1500 a month. 😳🤦🏻‍♀️ Today we go pay for a half month. If they back out of the sale we will get that 15,000 and that will cover paying for two places at once.

Our WiFi ends soon and will be gone a few days until it gets hooked up at the new place
If we close on a house before the six months, and I hope we do then I will move into the house and he will stay at the apartment till the lease runs out. We could use the separation or, at least I could.
