57. Welcome @GrandPaul! Hail State!
@KathyB1968 I understand. Nothing wrong with wanting a peaceful, relaxed and creative life! I've always felt that's a lot more desirable than high pressured, stressful pursuits and has nothing to do with ones age, young or old.I am a tweener as well. At 56, I am on the young side for a seniors
I started to notice a few years ago that I was getting more upset about young people saying rude things about boomers. Even though I am a few years too young to be a boomer. I got upset about the ageist stuff I saw online. I got upset by how rare it is to have a woman my age or older as the hero in fictional stories.
I realized I was starting to think of myself as old.
And this next part is a little hard to put in words, but I don't feel like "old" has to be a bad word. I feel like the time of running around, giving 110%, pushing myself to the limits is winding down. I want quiet days of reading and crafting and sipping tea. I want to just sit on a park bench and do nothing but look at trees and squirrels.
I don't have any problems with people who are active seniors. I am happy they are able to live the life they want. But that isn't me. I am one giant doily away from being a complete old lady stereotype. And I am perfectly okay with it.
@Pepper check this out. And the members of Led Zeppelin were in the audience! The pic of you & mom so fantastic @GrandPaul. How lucky you are to still have your mother. How optimistic you've made me that I can reach her age and be sharp but "feeble"---Hey, I'm getting feeble already at 75 but with an active mind which I test daily. I do go into "reveries" but they are enjoyable, though they confuse other people sometimes!
Ran home from a fun meeting the other day just to hear "Stairway to Heaven" be crowned as number one classic rock song of all time..........blasted it on Sirius radio; still felt those same vibes as years ago. 75 I still rock and roll. My neighbors must think this white haired old lady NUTS! So what!![]()
Thanks! Where are you?57. Welcome @GrandPaul! Hail State!![]()

You're not "one doily away from being a complete old lady".I think rather, you found satisfaction!
BTW, Kathy Bates is my favorite actress. Would you agree?
Thank you!I agree with you timoc, I am still middle-aged, I

Welcome to the gang, Paul.
Mike.
Thanks!Welcome to the forum GrandPaul. You are blessed to still have your mother, she looks great! I've never gotten any senior discounts, except once at the hardware store where the 'older' gal at the register asked me if I was over 65. I suspect she was flirting...
Why are you moving Annie?North Central MS for now. Likely Arkansas within the next year.
I'm about 20. At a Rock concert. The huge room is dark and smoky. It's loud.
Why are you moving Annie?
Thank you!
