Thanks for the info. Didn't know that. I knew that her party long ago wanted her to retire. Worked until she died is admirable. However, when no longer effective or competent for the job it THEN is the time to retire. Not just hang around. There really should be term limits for Congress as there is for the President. And, Feinstein was the poster-child for that. I do hope she is remembered for more than that.

I'd rather have an old politician, dozing in the seats, just waking up for the vote, than a young energetic moron -- that kind can do a lot of damage.

She passed while in office which is what she probably wanted. That being said she did not look well and had to be coached during senate sessions. She already gave power of attorney to her daughter.

I think she started as mayor of San Francisco.

Members of the Canadian Senate have a mandatory retirement age of 75. Same thing for the 9 Justices of the Canadian Supreme Court.

Our Senators are appointed, as are the Supreme Court Justices. JimB.

People (politicians, judges, executives and etc) in powerful positions have greater amounts of narcissism.

From all accounts, she was a trailblazer...a woman of firsts who fiercely stood up for what she believed was right during her service. Much respect to her and may she R.I.P.
