Seventies Memories

I remember all of this well, the 70's was my teen era ...but the ''paper fortune teller'', was in the 60's here in the uk, we used to make them all the time in school intervals... also the ''leeeshure'' suits, pronounced ''leshure'' suits were also a product of the 60's in the uk .

I'm pleased to say we never had those Bizarre local tv adverts in the uk either ...

..and yes I did have a CB radio for many years.. I feel embarrassed admitting that now... 😬 but it was fun at the time

Tank Tops and long collars on shirts and cheesecloth and Flared trousers and jeans. I have a broken knuckle from tripping over my flares:oops::rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

I went to a works party in the 70's and wore hot pants and a lace gypsy top and fishnet tights...You should have seen the looks I got from the guests..:oops:......and the women were not impressed but the men liked it from their glances My Hubby liked my garb so that's all that mattered.;)

Oh I wore hot -pants all the time during the summer of 1970 and '71. I worked in Chelsea girl for a whole summer , and they were actually the uniform at the time believe it or not... but aside from that they were the fashion for us young teens, and so we all wore them. I never took any notice of any older people giving me nasty looks..:D

Recently, I made a comment to my O/H that the 70's was the last decade to have fun with fashion, for both women and men.

A girlfriend from work and I, bought the same hot-pants outfit. You should have seen her older brother when he picked us at the bus station .. "what are you girls wearing?!" 🤣

OMG!! I remember CB Radio and it was the in-thing here. We had a setup and along dipole aerial on the house roof and we all had our User Handles And mine was Sidewinder. There was a local CB Radio club and off we went to join in the other CB Radio enthusiasts. Hubby put an aerial on our car and we'd drive along saying ONE FOUR FOR A COPY and wait for someone to come in and then there were the Networks and we'd chat on those. Of Course the craze wore off but it was fun. Looking back it all seems so dated and it is, isn't It? Happy days:)

Forgot to say: the dipole blew down off the roof in the gales of 1987 herein England and landed on top of our neighbours garage!!:oops::D

..yep we did all that too. My handle was Midnight dancer..:D

We used to have foxhunts one Sunday a month, and the club would have dances several times a year, and we'd all drive in convoy to the coast on some weekends.. we even went to Belgium and France a couple of times

I have so many memories of the 1970s! The Bellbottom jeans, the scooter skirts, KC and the Sunshine Band! Halter tops, earth shoes, platform shoes, bright blue eyeshadow! Boys with super long hair down past their butts and girls with long hair parted in the middle, How about those leisure suits!

What fun eh, Dolly. People seemed more friendly and sociable back then imo and family and friends get togethers were the norm. Parties with a 'whip round' to buy the booze for folk who hosted a party of gettogether. A couple of £ a couple back then and this bought the booze and the host supplied tof food and buffet.

A super Thread, Furry I keep popping in to watch the video (y)

Dolly, I wonder if your OH remembers the motorbike 'Cruises' along Southend seafront Golden Mile back then and in the end were banned.
