Sorry all you lovely ladies out ther but this is one for the men if you want to join in and tell us what your man usees please do .I have been shaveing for years But un till recently having spent pound and pounds on cartridge razors and never had a good shave. After Been on American forums I have gone back to the old saftey razor or the DE razor I just wonder what you lads use and what you favourite aftershave is.:)

I only use razors(Gillette Fuzon) for special occasions other then that I love using the Philips Norelco electric shaver.Whats great about an electric shaver I can shave anytime ,anyplace, anywhere.

I will a admit those cartridges are ridiculously overprice, I believe its 26 bucks for 4 of those blades.

We both use the old fashioned single-edge injector razor, had to go online though for replacement blades, stores don't carry them any more and look at you like you have two heads when you ask about them, lol.

I use a a double edge 'wet' safety razor with a butterfly mechanism. It's becoming more difficult to get blades and the ones you get are often of dubious quality. I buy them in bulk packs from Amazon. Never took to electric razors.

One of the pleasures of retirement has been NOT shaving every day!...but when I do, it's my Philips Norelco electric (have really taken to it). It does take one off the leash, so to speak...but I don't shave in the car. When I require a "blade shave" I use a Gillette Mach3 Turbo. (not a car.) When my Dad died ten years ago at the age of 90, I saved his aftershave lotion (Seabreeze) and used it for awhile. I later switched to Renewal, which has the same smell and blue color as Seabreeze. Not much of a renewal.

Dad aged 90 bet he could tell a few tales my dad died the same age.

My husband shaves with a Gillette fusion pro glide (it comes with cartridges) and he uses Barbasol shaving cream.

I have PAD (peripheral artery disease) and because of the lack of blood flow to my legs, hair no longer grows on them.
No need for me to shave.

My Dad was a fireman and poured every ounce of himself into his family. He had his faults, but he worked hard and tried his best, and was the most unselfish man I ever knew.
I still have his fireman's helmet and shaving mug with his brush.

Great to have something to remember him.Every time I pick a tool up that belong to my dad it gives the you a great feeling.

My husband... uses Barbasol shaving cream.

I also use Barbasol in a pressurized can. I like the barber pole design, I guess. Many years ago while digging a hole for a new shrub, I found a Barbasol glass jar for the shaving soap cakes. It is 8 sided with a raised letter on each side. I did like using the brush...very simple. I also like the Barbasol commercial.

Until this year I used a brush and mug; I did use the double edge blades in a heavy German manufacture razor but it was hard to get quality blades. I tried a Mach3 cartridge razor but it was like shaving with a barn door, unsatisfactory experience and I can't imagine using one of those 4 or 5 blade cartridges. I'm afraid my neuropathy got me to the point where I no longer trust myself with a blade razor, too many nicks, so I started using a Norelco dry electric razor, it's OK, not as close a shave as I like but no more nicks. After shave is still Old Spice and Bay Rum, I don't like the new fragrences.

Totaly agree with everything you say but since I have been using shave cream and brush I have had no problems

After spending many moons using the crappy cartridge systems and halting at the three-bladed Mach 3 I decided it was time to return to the older methods.

I picked up a mint-condition 1957 Gillette C1 SuperSpeed Flair Tip, aka "Dad's razor", on eBay. As was mentioned previously the blades are becoming harder to find so I usually get the better-quality ones through a few online specialty shops or, when they're out, on eBay.

It's SO much better! No gunked-up cartridges to clean, the blades are much sharper and the cost-per-shave has dropped to a ridiculously low level.

one of the best razors money could buy apparently
.

My Michael quit shaving 46 years ago, after things got to a point where cutting corners meant doing without many things. I thought him so handsome with his full beard. Now he goes in and tells the stylist to run a #3 razor all around. Head and beard. Now days his beard grows faster than the hair on his head. :eek:ld:

My husband's has a beard for quite a few years now too Rkunsaw, I trim his with the dog clippers and a comb attachment...keeps it short to medium length.

We have an old can of Barbasol on our bathroom shelf too.
