I'm sorry to hear that. Short lives are the only thing hard about having a pet. True, the joy of their companionship outweighs the sorrow, but the sorrow is always hard. I wish there were some way around that, but it's just part of the journey.

I feel for you....it's as bad as losing a human.
My budgie died a week ago. It had a chest infection and I knew it was going to die but even so, you hope it won't. I have had no choice but to buy a replacement as my parakeet was moping. As soon as I walked in with the new bird, it perked up and immediately started talking to the newcomer.

I'm sorry for the loss of your budgie. I used to raise them for 22 years. They're such adorable creatures

I know how you feel. I lost my Lil Bear (Bichon) right after Christmas. It’s a hard time to go thru.

I was trying to hold it together, then I got a card in the mail from the Vet family that put him down for me … they had put his paw print on the card.
That was painful.
