Shipping your car cross country

I just got a phone call from Shiply who told me they have picked up my motorcycle in Indiana and it'll be here in NC in the morning. So far they get a five star rating. If that changes I will edit this post.

I shipped my car from San Diego to Atlanta last year when I was moving for work, because driving solo felt like too much with all the stops and uncertainty. Only real hassle was being without my car for about a week, but I prepped for that by arranging a ride from the airport and stocking up groceries ahead of time. Just make sure to take photos of your car and confirm whether you need door to door or terminal pickup, since the convenience factor is worth a few extra bucks if you’re not up for navigating busy terminals. There’s a bunch of car transportation services out there now and many options to fit different budgets and needs, in case you’re still comparing: A1 Auto Transport: Compare Licensed Car Shipping Companies.

When I moved from NY to CA 40 years ago, I too did not want to drive by myself across the country. I contacted a service that hooks people up who do want to drive (unfortunately no longer have the info) and someone delivered my car to me a week later.
